Nick Rollason, immigration partner at Kingsley Napley, suggests an inevitable consequence will be that people will need new documentary evidence of their right to remain. The Times says a surge in immigration from other EU countries is likely as Europeans seek to get into Britain before possible curbs are imposed. Susan Hay, an immigration expert at Pinsent Masons, notes that “UK businesses which are reliant on EU workers need to consider contingency plans.”
