Lawyer facing prison after admitting avoiding more than £23,000 in rail fares over more than 2½ years.

Peter Barnett, 43, who lives in Oxfordshire, pretended to have travelled from Wembley, north London, to his office near Marylebone station, west London, to save money on his journey.

The Oxford graduate and Rhodes scholar, who is the author of a book on international law, turned himself into police having initially run away after being caught by a ticket
