Barclays must pay fraud victims £55,000Barclays has been ordered by the Financial Ombudsman Service to pay a couple more than £55,000 after “contributing” to them being defrauded. The lender disclosed information over the phone about “Mr and Mrs H” to conmen, who then used these details to pose as the bank’s staff in a subsequent call to the couple. They lost £130,000 from their account, of which only £20,000 was recovered.
