DNDLAW News – Conveyancing Fraud victims advised to go straight to police
Victims of conveyancing fraud are being advised to report cases to their local police, as doubts grow over the efficiency and reliability of Action Fraud. All cases are supposed to be reported first to Action Fraud, but research by the Sunday Telegraph has found more than one in three are being dropped without being referred to police. Action Fraud’s process of deciding whether to pass on cases also takes at least a month, during which – according to experts – the likelihood of any financial recovery diminishes greatly.
